- By purchasing this item, you agree it is the buyer's responsibility for any tarnishing that may occur. Avoid wearing your jewelry in the shower or anywhere it may be exposed to moisture or humidity as it can be very harsh on metals. Raw brass will tarnish over time. If you want to prevent it from tarnishing, clean it well with a metal polish such as Brasso. As a natural cleaning alternative, you can use a mix of baking soda, lemon juice + water, and scrub it on with a soft cloth or toothbrush, then wipe off and dry. After cleaning, you can buff your jewelry with a soft cloth to give it a nice finish
