Returning online orders is easy - send back your unwanted items by mail or take them to a UO store. To return by mail, click here to start the process and print your return shipping label. A $5 restocking fee will be deducted from your refund for most mailed returns. To return or exchange your items in person for free, take your items and packing slip or order confirmation email to your closest UO store.

Returning In-Store Purchases

Items bought in one of our UO stores can be returned to any UO store. Find a store near you to check store hours and address info. Take your item and receipt to the store to return. Most returns will be credited back to your original form of payment within 1-3 business days.

Returning Furniture

Most UO Furniture items may be returned or exchanged by carrier within 30 days from the date of delivery. Please note, we do not accept furniture returns in our stores. Select furniture items are subject to a restocking fee if returned. We guarantee the quality of our furniture (free of manufacture defect) for up to one year from purchase. If you experience any defects, you may return your furniture purchase for a refund within one year from the purchase date.

Return Policy


Return or exchange any unused or defective merchandise by mail or at one of our US or Canada store locations. Returns made within 30 days of the order delivery date will be issued refund to the original form of payment. Returns made after 30 days of the order delivery date will be refunded via an emailed e-merchandise credit. A restocking fee will be deducted from your refund for most mailed returns. Please note, some items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. This includes made-to-order furniture and sale items purchased at an additional sale-on-sale discount.

To return or exchange items purchased on UrbanOutfitters.com, the UO app or by phone, follow these easy steps:

  1. Find Your Order Number

    If you have a UO account, sign in and go to your Order History. Select the order you want to return or exchange and click View Details. Next click the Create a Return or Exchange button - now you're ready to start the process! Don't have a UO account yet? Guest orders and orders received as gifts can be found by checking Order Status.

  2. Print Your Return Label

    After you've created a return or exchange, follow the instructions to print your pre-paid return shipping label. When complete, you'll receive an email with tracking information and a copy of your return label just in case you need it.

  3. Attach Return Label

    Next, get your package ready to mail back to us. Add your items and tape your package securely. Make sure to remove or cover the original shipping label and attach your new return label to the package. You’re all set! Just schedule a pickup or drop off at any authorized facility for the designated carrier on your shipping label.


    If you are returning items from a multiple orders, please start a return for all items and include the receipt, packing list or order confirmation email from each order in your package.


    Return shipping labels are only available for orders shipping to the continental US and no additional postage is required. A $5 restocking fee will be deducted from your refund for most mailed returns. Please allow approximately 1-2 weeks for return processing. You will receive a refund notification from us when your return has been processed, and refunds will take an additional 1-3 business days to credit back to your original form of payment.

    Please note: Urban Outfitters is not responsible for any items not purchased from UO returned to us by mistake.

  4. Exchanges
    If you are exchanging your items, please make sure to send back any items you’re returning within 30 days to avoid being charged. Your exchange order will be processed immediately so you can get your new items ASAP!


    Please note: Shipping fees and handling surcharges are non-refundable.
